The Learning Den

Terms & Conditions

Effective August 7, 2026

These Terms explain the rules for using The Learning Den and Scout. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Using The Learning Den

The Learning Den provides homeschool planning, organization, curriculum, activities, family-learning tools, and related educational resources. Scout is The Learning Den's homeschool companion and organizer.

You must provide accurate account information and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity that occurs through your account and for maintaining control of family and Explorer access.

2. Parents Remain in Control

The Learning Den is designed to support parents and caregivers, not replace their judgment. Parents remain responsible for choosing what, when, and how their children learn.

Homeschool laws, reporting requirements, compulsory-attendance rules, testing rules, and graduation requirements vary by state and location. The Learning Den does not provide legal advice and does not guarantee that use of the service alone satisfies the requirements of your state, school district, umbrella school, charter program, or other authority.

3. Educational Content and Standards

We work to provide thoughtful, accurate, standards-aligned educational content and practical homeschool guidance. Educational standards, recommendations, links, and curriculum materials may change over time.

The Learning Den is not an accredited school unless we expressly state otherwise. Use of the service does not by itself confer school enrollment, accreditation, course credit, diplomas, certificates, or legal homeschool status.

4. Family and Explorer Accounts

Parent or caregiver accounts may create Explorer profiles for children in their family. The parent or caregiver is responsible for the information entered into those profiles and for determining whether and how a child uses The Learning Den.

You may not create an account or profile using another person's information without authorization.

5. Beta and Pioneer Features

Some features may be offered as beta, preview, Pioneer, or early-access features. These features may be incomplete, may change, and may occasionally contain errors or interruptions.

Feedback you voluntarily provide about beta features may be used to improve The Learning Den. Participation in a beta does not guarantee that a feature will remain available or launch in the same form.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse The Learning Den. Among other things, you may not:

  • Access another family's account, records, or private information without permission.
  • Attempt to bypass security, authentication, limits, or access controls.
  • Copy, scrape, redistribute, or commercially exploit protected content except as allowed by these Terms.
  • Use the service to distribute malware, spam, unlawful content, or material that infringes another person's rights.
  • Interfere with the operation, security, or availability of the service.

7. Our Content and Intellectual Property

The Learning Den, Scout, our branding, designs, illustrations, software, curriculum, lesson content, planning systems, text, graphics, and other materials we provide are owned by The Learning Den or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the service and its materials for your own family's homeschool and educational use. You may print or use materials for your household, but you may not resell, publish, redistribute, upload as a competing library, or commercially exploit them without written permission.

8. Your Content

You retain ownership of information and content you provide, such as family details, Explorer information, parent notes, schedule entries, and feedback.

You give us permission to store, process, and display that content only as reasonably necessary to provide, secure, support, and improve The Learning Den.

9. Subscriptions, Payments, and Cancellations

Some Learning Den services may require a paid subscription. Pricing, billing frequency, included features, renewal terms, and any trial period will be shown before you purchase.

Unless stated otherwise at checkout, subscriptions may renew automatically until canceled. You may cancel future renewal using the cancellation method provided in your account or by contacting us. Any refund terms shown at purchase will apply.

Beta or Pioneer access may be offered without charge or under separate introductory terms.

10. Third-Party Services and Links

The Learning Den may link to museums, field-trip destinations, educational resources, stores, or other third-party services. We do not control those services and are not responsible for their availability, safety, accuracy, pricing, policies, or content.

Parents are responsible for reviewing third-party resources and determining whether they are appropriate for their family.

11. Availability and Changes

We may add, modify, pause, or discontinue features as The Learning Den evolves. We work to keep the service available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the extent permitted by law, The Learning Den is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not make warranties that the service will meet every family's needs, operate without interruption, or guarantee a particular educational, academic, legal, or developmental outcome.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, The Learning Den and its owners, employees, contractors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of or inability to use the service.

Nothing in these Terms limits rights or remedies that cannot legally be limited under applicable law.

14. Account Suspension or Termination

We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect users, enforce these Terms, respond to unlawful activity, prevent abuse, or protect the security and operation of The Learning Den.

You may stop using the service at any time and may contact us regarding account deletion.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as the service grows. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and provide notice when appropriate. Continued use after updated Terms take effect means you agree to the revised Terms.
