The Learning Den
Privacy Policy

The Learning Den is built for families. We collect only the information we need to operate the service, organize your homeschool experience, support your account, and improve what we build. We do not sell your personal information.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide when you create or use a Learning Den account, including your name, email address, family name, ZIP code, and account information.
Parents may also create Explorer profiles for their children. Those profiles may include a child's first and last name, grade level, selected avatar or forest badge, parent notes, and information needed to organize homeschool lessons and schedules.
We may also collect basic technical information such as device type, browser type, approximate location derived from IP address, and information about how the service is used. We use this information to operate, secure, improve, and troubleshoot The Learning Den.
2. How We Use Information
We use information to provide and improve The Learning Den and Scout, including to:
- Create and maintain family accounts and Explorer profiles.
- Organize lessons, schedules, materials, activities, and homeschool plans.
- Remember family preferences and settings.
- Send account verification, password reset, service, and support emails.
- Respond to questions, feedback, bug reports, and support requests.
- Protect the service from fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, and security threats.
- Understand how families use the service so we can improve it.
3. Children and Family Accounts
The Learning Den is designed for parents and caregivers to manage homeschool learning for their families. A parent or caregiver creates and controls the family account and any Explorer profiles associated with it.
We do not knowingly ask children under 13 to create independent parent accounts or provide personal information to us without parental involvement. Information about a child is provided and managed by the parent or caregiver responsible for the family account.
If you believe a child has provided personal information to us without appropriate parental permission, contact us at hello@mylearningden.com so we can review and address it.
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We do not sell children's personal information.
We may share information with trusted service providers that help us operate The Learning Den, such as providers for website hosting, databases, authentication, email delivery, customer support, analytics, and payment processing when applicable. These providers may access information only as needed to perform services for us and are expected to protect it appropriately.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect the rights or safety of our users or others, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of all or part of the business.
5. Cookies and Similar Technologies
The Learning Den may use cookies, browser storage, and similar technologies that are necessary to keep you signed in, remember settings, preserve organizer information, and improve the service.
If we add optional analytics or marketing technologies in the future, we will update this policy and provide any choices required by applicable law.
6. Data Retention
We keep personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain your account, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the security of The Learning Den.
You may contact us to request deletion of your account or personal information. We may retain limited information when required by law or when reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, or recordkeeping.
7. Your Choices and Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you, or to receive information about how your data is used.
Parents and caregivers may also contact us regarding information contained in their children's Explorer profiles. To make a privacy request, email hello@mylearningden.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No website, database, or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.
9. Third-Party Links
The Learning Den may include links to field-trip destinations, educational resources, or other third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of third-party services. Their own privacy policies apply when you visit them.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as The Learning Den grows. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and, when appropriate, provide notice through the service or by email.
